Congratulations to our Managing Director, Debbie Darling, who successfully completed a Diploma in Geology last year with the Centre of Excellence, finishing with an overall grade of Distinction.
The course consisted of 10 modules and enabled Debbie to learn about the earth’s structures and processes, plate tectonic forces, earthquakes, volcanoes, minerals, rocks, geological analysis, climate trends, anthropogenic influences, and economic mining.
On completing the qualification, Debbie commented “It was tougher than I expected, but I’ve learned a huge amount along the way. The knowledge gained is already providing valuable in writing articles and, more importantly, in deepening my understanding of the industry I absolutely love!”.
The feedback from Debbie’s assessor, Karen White, made the hard work worthwhile. Karen commented “A marvellous outcome; your assessments highlighted a good understanding and awareness of the course in general. Your hard work was evident in each course module – well done Debbie.”
Debbie plans to apply to join The Geological Society, which caters to all geosciences; from sedimentology, marine geoscience, hydrogeology and engineering through to environmental science, planetary geoscience and more.
Well done, Debbie!
